LibDib or On Demand? What are the differences between the two distribution models?

As a company, LibDib was founded with one goal in mind for Makers and their distribution needs: to provide three-tier compliant distribution options for any Maker in all markets. LibDib continues to grow and deliver on its promise. We are currently available in many markets across the US. Please click here to review markets offered for distribution.

We offer two options, LibDib and On Demand, for all Makers. Both are distribution models for wine and spirits, but they differ in their operational structures.

LibDib:

  • Business Model: LibDib operates as a fully licensed, three-tier compliant distributor with a web platform that allows restaurants, bars, and retailers to legally and efficiently purchase boutique wines and craft spirits from Makers of all sizes.
  • Services: LibDib is the distributor of record, providing a streamlined distribution process utilizing our platform. LibDib handles coordination of first and second leg shipping and delivery, billing, collections, payments, and pricing. Makers submit Digital Requests through LibDib's platform. Makers’ products are available to Buyers in a specific market via an e-commerce experience at www.libdib.com.
  • Fees: LibDib adds a 14-20% mark-up (based on Extras subscription) to the price of the product.  Depending on the market, there can be up to two legs of shipping. The first leg, utilizing our LibShip program, is billed back to the Maker. The second leg is built into the pricing on the platform as a Dock and Delivery fee.

RNDC On Demand:

  • Business Model: RNDC On Demand is a sales division within RNDC that collaborates with LibDib's platform to provide distribution services.
  • Services: In this model, RNDC is the distributor of record, handling delivery, billing, collections, payments, and pricing. Makers submit Digital Requests through LibDib's platform which are then converted to an order with RNDC. Makers’ products are available to Buyers in a specific market via an e-commerce experience at www.erndc.com.
  • Fees: RNDC applies a 35% margin, which encompasses shipping costs, with no additional fees or bill backs.

LibDib and On Demand both aim to give all Makers the ability to sell their products to restaurants, bars, and retailers - even in single case or bottle quantities. While some Makers use both platforms to access various states, each market has different regulations and operational procedures that may make one model more suitable than the other.
