What do I do if I don't see a recent change?

When in Doubt Log Out: The First Step When You Don't See a Recent Change or Update

Sometimes you make a change in LibDib, or your Portfolio Manager makes a change for you, and you don’t see it immediately.

Before submitting a support request, remember this simple rule:

When in Doubt, Log Out.

Log completely out of your LibDib account, then log back in. In many cases, this will refresh your session and allow the platform to display the most current information.

When should I log out and back in?

Try this anytime something was recently added, changed, or approved but you aren’t seeing the update you expect.

Common examples include:

  • You just created or updated an Offering, but you don’t see it where you expect it.
  • You added an Offering to a market, but it isn’t appearing in that market.
  • Your Portfolio Manager approved a price change, but you still see the previous price.
  • Your Portfolio Manager made another change to your account or Offering, but your screen still shows the old information.
  • Something was approved or activated, but your account doesn’t appear to reflect the change yet.
  • Someone at LibDib tells you an update has been completed, but you don’t see it on your side.

Why does this happen?

Like many web-based software platforms, LibDib relies on browser sessions and stored website data to make the platform faster and easier to use.

Occasionally, your existing session may continue displaying information from before a recent change. Logging out and signing back in starts a new session and can help the platform retrieve your most current account information.

This isn't unique to LibDib. It is a common troubleshooting step for web-based software. Google notes that browsers store website information in cache and cookies and that refreshing this stored information can help retrieve the most up-to-date version of a website. Microsoft also recommends signing out and signing back in as a troubleshooting step for certain synchronization and account-update issues.

What should I do?

Start here:

1. Log out of LibDib completely.

2. Close the browser tab.

3. Open LibDib again and log back in.

4. Return to the page where you expected to see the change.

In many cases, that’s all you need.

Still not seeing it?

If logging out and back in doesn’t work, try refreshing your browser.

If you are still seeing outdated information, clearing your browser's cache and cookies may help. Keep in mind that clearing cookies can sign you out of websites and may remove some saved website preferences.

If the change still isn't showing after these steps, contact LibDib Support or your Portfolio Manager and let us know:

  • What you expected to see
  • What you are seeing instead
  • The Offering or market involved, if applicable
  • Whether you already logged out and back in

That information will help us troubleshoot the issue more quickly.

Remember

When in doubt, log out.

If something was just added, changed, approved, or updated and you don't see it yet, logging out and back in should be your first troubleshooting step.
